I’ve haven’t had the time to blog as much as I’d like thanks in part to now having a full time job (thanks for the inspiration Dave Pederson). But since the new video from The Pierces was released I was moved to bring it to your attention. It makes me die! Rarely does an act actually release one of my favourite tracks off their record and rarer still does the video live up to the track but The Pierces have done this with their video for It Will Not Be Forgotten. Thanks for living my dream Alison and Catherine. Now if only I could find a job where I can waft about the woods like a nymph I’d have much more time to blog…

It's time you had the talk...
Check out Robyn’s amazing new video Call Your Girlfriend. It’s essentially the dance routine from Papa Don’t Preach, with the Doug E. Fresh and the Mashed Potato thrown in for good measure. I especially love it because Madonna's Papa Don’t Preach routine is pretty much my go to dance when drunk. Enjoy.

Extreme Couponing Pilot
The Extreme Couponing pilot has just been uploaded by my personal hero, daily motion’s Samiam2546, whoever they may be (marry me). This is where it all began folks. Some of the more observant amongst you will remember Nathan ‘Mr Coupon’ Engels from episode 3. Sorry ladies, he’s married. In this episode, not only does he slay the competition with his mad couponing skills, he also has fun with art! I think we could all stand to learn a thing or two from Mr Coupon, he’s got it going on.

Tilda Swinton… Reykjavik… organic kale...
This cute animation by John McCutcheon, although based on Silver Lake hipsters, neatly surmises how I'm made to feel just about every time someone in East London opens their mouth around me. Hipsters are hipsters regardless of geography after all. I’m totally Pheebs the snail!

You're the one I'm dreaming of...
I’ve just been reminded of how much I love Madonna’s True Blue album, while at the mercy of my iPod’s shuffle all songs function. I first heard True Blue sung by a red coat on holiday at Butlins, in a sort of nightclub for kids that had a cabaret show and fruity virgin cocktails with plastic mermaids in the glass. It was all very classy, and sophisticated entertainment for a 6 year old. You can imagine my disappointment when I finally stepped into a real nightclub a decade later...

You tell 'em Maureen!
You don’t want to piss off Margaret Cho’s butch lesbian alter ego Maureen. For my sake I’m glad her neighbours did when they had her RV towed. The result was the hilarious My Puss, a diss song taken from her album Cho Dependent. Check out My Puss below, and some more hilarity from Cho Dependent under the cut.

My New Theme Tune!
Lady GaGa is certainly pulling out all the stops to win back my love. If last week’s offering, the anthemic Pat Benatar-y gem The Edge of Glory wasn’t enough, this week’s release is all about my favourite subject, Hair.
Musically it’s kinda in the same vein as Edge including that sexy sax and lyrics like “I don't wanna change, and I don't wanna be ashamed. I'm the spirit of my Hair, it's all the glory that I bare. I am my hair.”
It’s like it’s been written just for me. So cheers for the theme tune Lady! I’m officially back in love with you.
Becoming Chaz
Two of my favourite things, Cher and documentaries about transsexuals, have been brought together in the form of Becoming Chaz. A documentary that chronicles Cher’s daughter Chastity Bono’s female to male sexual transition. The same kind soul that brought us Extreme Couponing has just uploaded Becoming Chaz in its entirety to Daily Motion for our televisual pleasure. I now have to find this person and marry them. Part one is below and the rest is under the cut. Enjoy. I can’t wait for the sequel Becoming Dave...

Hairspiration Part Deux
Whilst Caleb Followill may have been my Hairspiration for my hair style, I have another Hairspiration that is more colour specific and somewhat subconscious. I recently indulged in a Sex and The City marathon, all 6 seasons and 2 movies from the beginning. Not in one sitting, I might add. I’d moved to new place without a TV aerial in my room so my viewing options were limited to DVD box-sets or static.
Watching Sex and The City from the beginning wasn’t something I’d done since my university days, which may explain why I only got a ‘Desmond’ (2:2). Who cares, it was totally worth it and I felt it better prepared me for life than knowing the meaning of the word hegemony. God, the fashion in 1998 was appalling, and at the rate things are moving it should be back in fashion late next year, if so let’s hope the Mayan’s got it right about the whole apocalypse thing. Anyway, something dawned on me; I’ve had every one of Carrie Bradshaw’s hair colours.

Glorious
God bless the world it’s so glorious. The Pierces’ words not mine, taken from their latest single Glorious. Check out the accompanying video below. I can’t wait to see them again in June, I’ll be the one front and centre with a tambourine and a daisy chain around my head. Too much?
